Separated, but still well connected with the land, the island of Brac presents a reachable oasis for your escape from busy daily routine.

Away from urban smog and traffic sounds, the island of Brac will calm you with the sweat cricket chirp and fulfil you with fresh air enriched with fragrances of sage and rosemary.

Vidova gora

A remarkable mountain that rises above Bol is the highest mountain on the Croatian islands in general, with its highest peak 778 meters above the sea level.
A part of the mountain has been protected as a significant landscape since 1973.

The mountain is covered with indigenous Dalmatian black pine forests, as well as with other Mediterranean vegetation.

Because of its altitude, Vidova gora has slightly colder climate than is usual on Dalmatian islands, and due to that, boasts a number of plant and animal species unusual in this climatic zones.

Among the highest cliffs it is possible to see some rare birds of prey, like golden eagles or griffon vultures.

beaches in Bol and around

Zlatni Rat or Golden Cape - the most recognizable landmark of Brac and, for sure, one of the most common motifs used in presentation of Croatian tourism in the world, is located in Bol, on the southern side of the island.

This amazing sand beach is spread along the one kilometer long white pebble cape and surrounded by the crystalline blue sea.

Specificity of the beach is its susceptibility to alteration of shape and position, depending on wind direction. Because of its protrusion into the sea, the beach is quite exposed to winds, which makes it ideal destination for windsurfers.

Potocina Beach - a pebble beach located on a way from Bol to Zlatni Rat. The beach provides various facilities for visitors, whether you want to lie in a deck chair under a parasol, or you are fond of activities on the sea.

Kotlina and Martinica - nice beaches placed near Dominican monastery, on the eastern side of the town. Scented pine forest provides a refreshing shade in the heat of the summer day.
