Vransko Lake is the largest natural lake in Croatia. As an almost untouched natural habitat for water birds and an area abundant in biodiversity, Vransko Lake area has been recognized and established as a nature park since 1999.
The nature park covers the area of around 57 square kilometers. The lake itself covers 30,2 square kilometers.
The most significant feature of the park is a special orhithological reserve. With its rare wetland system rich in reed, the reserve was recognized as Importand Bird Areas in Europe from 1983.
Take a pleasant walk through the scents of grass and colourful flowers, enjoy the play of butterflies and dragonflies all around you and, finally, hide among the dense reed and sedge to get acquainted with the timid birds and their natural habits.
The town of Vodice is situated in a large bay, adjacent to the crystal blue sea and surrounded from the north by hills covered with olive groves and vineyards. Freshwater lakes in the hinterland and picturesque islets on the horizon are only some of beautiful features of Vodice.
The Blue beach - the largest and the most beautiful beach in Vodice is the Blue Beach, awarded the Blue flag for its tidiness and cleanliness of the sea. Scented pine trees will give you a pleasant shade for your afternoon nap.
The several mile long pebbly and cemented beach provides variety of facilities for visitors, as well as different activities on the sea, like diving and sailing. You can also rent a various gear needed for your active vacation.
Srima beach - Srima is a small sea resort adjacent to Vodice, known for its beautiful pebble beaches all along the coast. A part of the beach is sandy and, therefore, favorable for children. Comparing to Vodice, Srima is less-crowded beach.
