Kornati Islands (Kornatski otoci) the largest and densest archipelago of 89 islands, islets and reefs comprising an area of 69 sq km in the Adriatic Sea, scattered at an area of 220 sq km, 35 km long and 13 km wide, between islands: Dugi Otok (NW) and Zirje (SE), Pasman (N).
The Kornati are a true paradise for yachtsmen and boaters. Many coves provide safe shelter for any weather. The submarine zone is protected and visitors are advised to be informed. The islands abound with karst phenomena, caves, cavities, gullies, habitat of a number of birds.
The islands are a unique pleasure and experience whether bathing in the crystal-clear sea, peace and quietness or feel enthusiastic about eco (Robinson) tourism without modern facilities. Boaters spend the nights on boats, the other may rent a modest house or just a stone cottage.
