Hotel Adriatic reviews

The hotel is a little tired in places but is generally clean. Breakfast is served in the restaurant which is in a separate building just across the road, it was a pretty standard continental offering and the quality could be better but its quite possible to fill up on the selection of fresh breads. There is a bus stop right on the hotel door step where you catch the number 4 bus into town, this takes about 10/15 minutes and runs every 20mins from early morning until about 1am so getting to Dubrovnik old town to see all the tourist attractions is very easy.

I booked a room with a double bed and was given one with two singles. Breakfast was served in their restaurant down the road from the hotel, which also involved the encountering of more horrendous stairs to get down into the restaurant, and climb when coming out of it. The shower in the room ran from very hot to freezing cold, and I have never seen such shabby towels in a hotel before.

The standard at the hotel was disgraceful - our room was on the 3rd floor with over 70 stairs to climb. The chair had holes across the top. Our wardrobe had only 1 door as did the handle on a drawer. There was a metal panel in the bathroom which was next to the toilet and quite honestly I don't know what was on it! I can genuinely say I have never stayed in such a poor quality hotel. We were half board and ended up having our evening meals in 3 different hotels!!

The rooms are tiny there isn't enough floor space to put down a suitcase. The shower doesn't have a curtain so the bathroom floods every time you have a shower. Finally when it was time to leave the power on our floor went out making packing and showering impossible. I will be very glad if I never have to stay here again.

We were in the annex building, which had 3 floors no lifts - so you had better pack light. The Lock to our room was broken. I could not open it and after walking back to the reception again to get the serviceman, it took the serviceman a couple of minutes to open it too. When taking my bags back to the room I locked the door again, and it took several minutes to open. There was no shower curtain or screen so the bathroom was flooded whenever you had a shower. The view out to see was quite nice.

In our group there were some elderly who had trouble getting their luggage to the third floor. We had dinner buffet one night and it was very good and the staff very nice and helpful - but there is awful noise from the fitness-center over the restaurant. Every 20 minutes here is a bus for the old town just outside the hotel.

The bed was horrible, the air conditioning did not work, and the breakfast was dreadful! They also start cleaning at 8am and even tried to come into our room while we were in bed (at 8am!).

The hotel itself has an unbeatable location! Very easy to get from the airport - take the airport shuttle to Old City. Also nearby (maybe 10 minute walk) there is a nice promenade with shops and restaurants. Hotel inside can benefit from some upgrades but no complaints as everything was super clean.

The room itself was a bit basic but was clean and the maid was in everyday to change beds and shower. The hotel is in a great location for buses into town.
